Ya ƙunshi zoben ureido (tetrahydroimidizalone) wanda aka haɗa tare da zoben tetrahydrothiophene. Wani madadin acid valeric yana haɗe zuwa ɗaya daga cikin atom ɗin carbon na zoben tetrahydrothiophene. Biotin wani coenzyme ne na enzymes carboxylase, wanda ke da hannu a cikin kirar fatty acid, isoleucine, da valine, da kuma a cikin gluconeogenesis.
