Product Introduction
Trihydroxystearin, also known as oxidized stearin, is a mixture of partially oxidized stearic acid and glycerides of other fatty acids. Its molecular formula is C57H110O9 and its relative molecular mass is 939.48. Antioxidants can only hinder the oxidation reaction. The effect of delaying the onset of spoilage does not change the effects of spoilage. Therefore, when using antioxidants, it must be properly grasped at an early stage to exert its antioxidant effect.
Benefits
1.Provides thixotropic thickening (shear thinning properties) in various oils including mineral, vegetable and silicones oils, and also low-polarity aliphatic solvents.
2.Imparts good pay-off in stick products
3.Improves stability when used in the oil phase of emulsions
4.Can be used as a binder in pressed powers
Applications
Creams, lipsticks, massage gels, balms.
